About this chat
URIAL is not a place to collect friends or browse profiles until you find the “right” person. It is a no-sign-up random chat for the moment when you simply want to talk to someone who happens to be here too.
Value the conversation now, not the search for a person
Instead of configuring detailed filters, URIAL connects people who are waiting at the same time. You know very little about the other person until you start talking. That uncertainty can lead to conversations that would not happen inside your usual social circle.
Drop in when you are bored, awake late at night, between work or study, or simply feel like typing to someone for a few minutes.
Not a social network and not a matching service
Social networks accumulate posts, follows, likes, profiles and relationships. Normal URIAL random chat does not provide a friends list, follower graph, public profile directory or a way to search for a previous partner after the conversation ends.
It is also not a service for finding someone to date or meet offline. Exchanging social accounts, phone numbers, email addresses or other off-platform contact details is restricted.
On mobile, conversation is the main interface
The phone experience is designed more like a messaging app than a desktop page squeezed onto a small screen. After a match, the other person's name, short comment, bubbles, media controls, voice controls and composer stay close to the conversation.
You can keep the keyboard open while sending with the button beside the composer, then tap the conversation area when you want to dismiss it and see more history. Native apps are part of the product plan, and desktop, iPhone and Android browsers are also supported ways to join.
Text, images, video, voice and translation
Conversation is not limited to text. Images and short video can be sent up to 30MB per file, while voice messages can be recorded for up to 5 minutes. Translation can help when the two users speak different languages while keeping the original message visible.
The copy of an image delivered to the other user is stripped of EXIF-style shooting metadata. The user interface also avoids a normal download button for media.
Ease of use still needs boundaries
URIAL is casual, but it is not an anything-goes space. The service is 18+ only and includes limits on external contact exchange, reporting, blocking and operator safety controls.
