Safety

For adults 18 and older

URIAL is intended only for people aged 18 or older. If the age entered by a user is under 18, the server rejects entry. If activity later suggests that a minor may be using the service, access may be restricted or suspended to protect users.

Please do not misrepresent your age. The age rule is a core safety requirement, not just a notice on the screen.

Phone numbers, email and social-media exchanges are restricted

URIAL is not a dating service or a tool for moving a conversation off-platform. Exchanging phone numbers, email addresses, social-media accounts, external IDs, or asking another person for those details is restricted.

The service can evaluate variations and messages split across multiple sends to block prohibited contact exchanges or requests to meet offline. Repeated attempts may result in temporary suspension.

Anonymous does not mean unidentifiable

Do not send your real name, home address, school, workplace, nearest station, regular hangouts, phone number, email address, social-media handle, or other details that can identify you.

Even broad details can become identifying when age, work, photos, routines and location clues are combined. Share less, not more, with someone you do not know.

Check images and video before sending

Photos may reveal more than you expect: signs, mail, employee badges, uniforms, school names, license plates, landmarks or the view outside a window. Check the background before sending anything.

For safety operations, URIAL may retain an original image and available EXIF/capture metadata. The copy delivered to the other user is normalized and stripped of EXIF-style shooting metadata so GPS and similar data are not directly shared with the chat partner. The user interface does not provide a normal download button.

No website can completely prevent someone from recording what appears on their screen. Do not send media that would cause harm if it were saved by another method.

You never have to stay in an uncomfortable chat

If someone is threatening, sexually coercive, demanding personal information, repeatedly asking for contact details, or otherwise making you uncomfortable, end the conversation and use report/block. Reporting ends the chat and creates a pair block intended to prevent the same two participants from being matched together again.

If the conversation simply is not a good fit, you can end it or move on without reporting.

Operator safety controls

URIAL includes administrative tools for rule enforcement, report review, service reliability and security operations. Operators may review the records needed to investigate reports, abuse or incidents.

Normal random-chat conversations, media and operational records are generally retained for about 90 days and then become eligible for deletion. Legal Hold may suspend normal deletion when preservation is required for legal compliance or serious abuse/security investigations.

Automated media checks

When automated media checks are enabled, photos, avatar images and sampled video frames are sent to Google Cloud Vision, and video audio / voice messages to Google Cloud Speech-to-Text, before delivery. We check sexual or violent imagery and prohibited text or speech. Separate consent is requested before first media submission or avatar use. Blocked, uncheckable or timed-out media is not delivered. Temporary frames and decoded audio are discarded when processing ends. Blocked original media, matched terms, detection methods, timestamps, sender and room information are retained for administrator review for normally 90 days, except when preservation is required. Passing OCR and speech transcripts are not retained as review records. Video frames are sampled every 0.5 seconds, and speech recognition targets Japanese and English. Brief imagery, other languages, context or disguised language can be missed; false positives also occur. This does not determine a person’s age or the legality of content. Please report inappropriate material. Google processing is subject to its contractual and data-processing terms.
