Important Notice

1. 18+ only; no dating or off-platform contact

URIAL is limited to users aged 18 or older. Dating use, arranging meetups, and exchanging phone numbers, email addresses, social-media accounts or other off-platform contact details are prohibited. URIAL is not a dating service.

2. Authorized operator review when necessary

When there is a specific need involving reports, abuse, rule violations, security, outages or legal compliance, an authorized administrator may review relevant stored conversations, media and logs only to the extent necessary.

3. Translation can send both participants' text to an external API

Translation is optional. If you or the other participant enables translation, message text selected for translation from both participants may be sent to Google Cloud Translation API. A separate confirmation is shown when each participant first enables translation. Turning translation off prevents translation requests initiated by that participant, but your messages may still be translated when the other participant has enabled translation. Authorized operators may also use the administrative translation function when reasonably necessary to review stored conversations for reports, safety or rule enforcement, which sends the relevant stored text to the same API.

4. Original media metadata may be retained

If original images, video or other media contain EXIF, GPS, capture time, device information or other metadata, URIAL may retain the original or extracted metadata for safety or investigation purposes. Image copies delivered to the other participant are sent after metadata is removed.

5. No GPS permission; approximate IP location may be used

URIAL does not use the Browser Geolocation API and does not request GPS/location permission. For safety and related purposes, the connection IP may be sent to an IP geolocation service to estimate approximate country, region, city or coordinates. IP location may be inaccurate.

6. Normal random-chat data is generally retained for about 90 days

Normal random-chat conversations, media and operational logs are generally retained for about 90 days for safety, reports, security and troubleshooting. Legal Hold may suspend normal deletion where preservation is required.

7. Invite rooms have different retention

Invite-room histories may remain until the room is administratively deleted and may be shown again when an authenticated participant returns.

8. Anonymous does not mean that self-disclosed information is hidden

If you send your real name, address, school, workplace, face, routine or other identifying information, the other participant can see it. Do not send information that could harm you if saved.

Automated media checks

When automated media checks are enabled, photos, avatar images and sampled video frames are sent to Google Cloud Vision, and video audio / voice messages to Google Cloud Speech-to-Text, before delivery. We check sexual or violent imagery and prohibited text or speech. Separate consent is requested before first media submission or avatar use. Blocked, uncheckable or timed-out media is not delivered. Temporary frames and decoded audio are discarded when processing ends. Blocked original media, matched terms, detection methods, timestamps, sender and room information are retained for administrator review for normally 90 days, except when preservation is required. Passing OCR and speech transcripts are not retained as review records. Video frames are sampled every 0.5 seconds, and speech recognition targets Japanese and English. Brief imagery, other languages, context or disguised language can be missed; false positives also occur. This does not determine a person’s age or the legality of content. Please report inappropriate material. Google processing is subject to its contractual and data-processing terms.
